Week Three – Jesus is the only way
There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death. - Proverbs 14:12
The destiny of a person has two aspects: one deal with his fellow men and the other is in relation with his Creator; so is it for a nation. A nation has a responsibility towards the other nations. This responsibility, if it is taken, is going to be its contribution for the welfare of mankind. A nation has a responsibility toward God who has created it and given its community all the means and talents to be what it is and help the rest of the international community. (Rev. Sylvio Dieudonne ‘Haiti Between Glory and Despair’, page 17)
Questions to discuss
What dangers confront a nation whose citizens can only refer to the past when talking about its contributions to the world?
Pray that the Lord will forgive our sins as a nation, especially for doing those things that seemed right in our own eyes but has led to death and darkness. Jesus is the only Way.
Pray also that He raises up courageous men and women with integrity—people who fear the Lord and exhibit compassion—to take the nation on a different path that will honor him in all our institutions.
